Bowlers Lamichhane and Bhari flummoxed the American batsmen as Nepal inflicted a humiliating 8-wicket defeat on the opponents in the last match of the tri-series of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.
Nepal attained the 36-run target set by the USA in 5.2 overs losing just 2 wickets in the match today, February 12, 2020.
Earlier, the USA lost the toss and were invited to bat first. The USA scored only 35 runs losing all wickets in 12 overs.
America’s XM Marshall is the only batsmen to reach double-digit score. He scored 16 runs including two fours off 22 balls. All the other batsmen couldn’t reach even 5 runs.
Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane and Sushan Bhari collectively choked the opponent batsmen with their splendid spell.
Lamichhane took 6 wickets in 6 overs conceding only 16 runs, while Bhari claimed 4 wickets in 3 overs giving away only 5 runs.
Nepal won all the two matches against the USA in the ongoing tri-series. Earlier, Nepal defeated the USA by 35 runs.
The USA has failed to secure a win in this tri-series, whereas Nepal has registered two wins.
The USA is at 2nd position in the points table with 12 points and Nepal is at 6th position with 4 points.
