Nepal’s famous leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has been nominated for the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Player of the Month award for September.
The ICC also nominated Bangladesh spinner Nasum Ahmed and American Jaskaran Malhotra for the Player of the Month award.
Excellent bowling performance in Oman tri-nation series had paved way for Sandeep’s nomination for the award.
In the series between Oman, the USA, and Nepal, Lamichhane took 18 wickets in six matches with a bowling economy of 7.38.
He also performed well in the matches with Papua New Guinea with bowling figures of 4/35 and 6/11.
Likewise, England captain Heather Knight was nominated for the Women’s Player of the Month.
