Nepal has lost its first-ever ODI match on the home ground against Oman by 18 runs.
Winning the toss, Nepal has opted to bowl and restricted Oman to 197 for 9 in 50 overs in the first match of the tri-series at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kathmandu, today, i.e., February 5, 2020.
Nepali left-arm spin bowler Sushan Bhari bowled 10 overs and took 3 wickets for 14 runs. While, Karan KC, who has bowled the Oman opener in the first over, took 4 wickets for 47 runs.
Mohammad Nadeem is the highest scorer for Oman at 69-not out.
Later, chasing the 198-run target set by Oman, Nepali batsmen stumbled to reach the target and were bowled out for 179 in the 47th over.
Sharad Vesawkar is the top scorer for Nepal with 55 runs.
Oman captain Zeeshan Maqsood took 3 wickets for 30 runs and restricted the Nepali batsmen.
With this win, Oman has secured a total of 10 points and moved to the 2nd position in the League 2 points table.
