Visiting Nepal will now be easier and frequent for US Citizens as Nepal approved the new visa regime!
According to Nepal Information Minister Gokul Baskota, US citizens will get five-year multiple entries to Nepal and can spend a maximum of 180 days per year in the Himalayan nation, as per the new rule.
The five-year multiple entry visa come into effect from January 1, 2019 and will be priced at USD 160.
Earlier, American citizens were paying a fee of USD 100 for a 90-day stay (maximum), after which they would have to pay USD 2 for every extra day spent in Nepal.
The US Government has been demanding a reciprocal visa regime between the two countries since a long time.
From the Nepali side, the Cabinet directed Nepal Ministry of Foreign Affairs to negotiate with the US Embassy in Kathmandu regarding waiving the additional fee of USD 200 for Nepali students applying to US.
