The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has signed a one-year contract with men and women cricketers for the next year.
For the first time in history, the CAN has signed a contract with women cricketers.
“The CAN has signed contracts with women cricketers for the first time. This is a good start”, said CAN Chairperson Chatur Bahadur Chand.
A recent board meeting of the CAN categorized 37 cricketers, including 18 male and 19 female players, into Grade A, B, and C, and fixed remuneration accordingly.

According to the CAN Chairperson Chand, the Association has incremented the monthly remuneration of men cricketers by NPR 5,000 per grade.
The board has also decided to provide remuneration for cricket coach Jagat Tamata at par with the Grade A cricketers for two years.
Likewise, the CAN has decided to form a three-member committee for providing life insurance for the contracted cricketers, ground staff, and office staff.
Moreover, the board members also decided to coordinate with the concerned authorities for organizing the ‘Prime Minister Cup’ tournament within mid-December 2020.
