Nepal COVID-19 Cases Increase by 2,525

The Nepal health ministry confirmed the detection of 2,525 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The total caseload of Nepal has hit 831,968 as of Tuesday.

In the last 24 hours, 9,909 swabs samples were collected and tested for the deadly virus using the RT-PCR method. 2,020 of those samples tested positive for coronavirus.

Additionally, 4,901 people were tested using the antigen method, and 505 people were infected. The overall positivity rate is 17.04 percent. PCR method bagged the unwanted 20.38 positivity percent while antigen testing came back with 10.30 percent.

 

Nepal currently has 38,351 active cases. 3,105 infected are hospitalized, while 620 are fighting the infection under intensive care. In addition, 170 infected people are on ventilators.

35 people have succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, while 2,086 people have successfully recovered from the infection. Until now, 10,568 people have died from coronavirus in Nepal.

Fortunately, 702,183 have managed to achieve complete recovery. The nation’s overall recovery rate is 93.5 percent, while COVID-19 induced mortality rate is 1.5 percent.

3,857,598 Nepalis have been fully vaccinated, while 4,943,732 are awaiting their second dose of vaccine.
