The coronavirus pandemic has not only disrupted the socio-economic conditions across the world, it has taken a ‘huge emotional‘ toll on the people.
Many people are feeling emotionally stressed due to the uncertainty surrounding the contagion.
With the major countries now in lockdown, the people have been feeling an overwhelming amount of stress, whether it may be due to watching the news, visiting hospitals or self-quarantine.
Even in countries like Nepal with no significant number of coronavirus infections, people are anxious, helpless and insecure.
In the need of the hour, the Nepali Embassy in Washington DC has endorsed a ‘COVID-19 Stress Management Information Desk’ to support Nepalis working in the USA and the rest of the world.
[ALSO READ: Location-wise COVID-19 Cases in Nepal]The help desk with a group of volunteer healthcare professionals from the US and Nepal will provide psychological support in the Nepali language for stress management.
The interested people can schedule an appointment with the COVID-19 Stress Management Team through a telephonic call or email.
Services Offered
All the services, trainings and advices provided by the team are free-of-cost.
The ‘COVID-19 Stress Management Information Desk’ has been initiated with the support of the Health Foundation Nepal (HFN), the Society of American-Nepalese Nurses (SANN) and the America Nepal Medica Foundation (ANMF).
So far, Nepal has reported 31 coronavirus infection cases. However, around 1100 Nepalis have been infected and 28 have died due to coronavirus in various foreign countries.
