As of today, Nepal has reported 31 coronavirus infection cases. While 28 COVID-19 patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals, 4 patients have already recovered and discharged.
So far, coronavirus has affected 210 countries and territories and has infected 2,407,400 people while claiming 165,071 lives. Among the 1,617,200 active cases, 1,562,978 patients are in mild condition and 54,222 are in critical condition.
The Nepali Government has reported one new coronavirus positive case on April 18, 2020, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases to 31.
A 65-year old man living in Udayapur mosque had tested positive, taking the number of positive cases to 13 in mosque alone.
Earlier on April 17, 2020, a total of 12 Indian nationals living in Udayapur mosque have tested positive for COVID-19.
Among the 31 COVID-19 cases, 15 are Nepalis with foreign travel history, 15 are Indians living in Nepal and 1 case of local transmission. However, there are no death cases in Nepal.
Even though there are no significant number of coronavirus infection cases in Nepal, the situation of the Non- Resident Nepalis (NRNs) is becoming worse as the global countries are grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), a total of 1,166 Nepalis have been infected and 28 have died due to COVID-19, globally.

The NRNA has gathered this information with the help of Nepali diplomatic missions, NRNA branches and local organizations in respective countries.
Meanwhile, the NRNA has provided essentials to around 1,000 Nepalis in over 20 countries while mobilizing local branches to provide relief materials to the needy.
