]]>This is good news for all, as tourism is one of Nepal’s most significant revenue streams.
The incumbent administration stated that fully vaccinated people entering Nepal via Tribhuvan International Airport and other entry points should get the visa on their arrival.
However, the catch is that the tourists from the approved countries should have completed their vaccination at least 14 days before they set foot in Nepal.
The tourists have to furnish the required evidence, which ranges from a negative coronavirus report not older than 72 hours from the arrival time, and they ought to display the Nepal hotel reservation confirmation.
Apart from the on-arrival visas, should one want the visa before the arrival, they ought to visit the Nepali embassy and complete the required vaccinations before obtaining the visa.
Travelers who are yet to get vaccinated completely can also come to Nepal. However, they have to apply for the visas before their arrival through travel agents. Then, after arriving in Nepal, they have to quarantine themselves for ten days.
Here’s the complete government order:

According to the British Embassy in Kathmandu, the UK has donated the vaccines as part of its direct bilateral support to Nepal.
Once after receiving the consignment at the Tribhuvan International Airport, the MoHP shipped the vaccines to Teku hospital for cold storage.
“I am delighted to be here today at airport in Kathmandu as over 130,000 Astra Zeneca vaccine doses donated to Nepal by the UK has just arrived in Nepal. The UK is Nepal’s oldest friend, with a strong partnership that has lasted for more than two hundred years,” said British Ambassador Pollitt.

]]>The post Nepalis Can Fly to UAE Easily Now appeared first on Nepali Sansar.
]]>Although UAE never stopped Nepalis from entering its airspace, the entry was allowed only after a negative PCR test result. This facility has arrived at the airport now.
Air Arabia, a Saudi Arabia airline operator, was flying the Nepalis to UAE from Thursday. However, the Nepal airlines lagged in the game as the TIA wasn’t equipped with the PCR test option.
Additionally, Fly Dubai was flying the other passengers. Although the Nepali airlines were flying to UAE, it was only to bring back passengers to Kathmandu.
As per the requirements, a negative PCR test result has to be presented at the airport. This test result should not be more than 48 hours old, and an additional negative Rapid PCR test had to be presented to board the jet. The second test cannot be more than four hours old.
The airlines are accepting even if a negative PCR test result is presented at the time of boarding. However, the test ought not to be older than four hours. Due to this workaround, Nepalis can now fly to UAE on Nepali air carriers.
Using this workaround, Himalaya Airlines and Air Arabia flew Nepalis to UAE on Saturday. The Himalayan Airlines collected the swab samples of the passengers and flew them to the destination only after receiving the negative results.
Also, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) is prepping to fly to UAE on Monday night with passengers on board. The NAC will fly twice a week to UAE starting this week.
The government of Dubai previously listed Nepal as a high-risk COVID-19 country along with many other countries. This move was initiated to curb the spread of the virus. It has now relaxed the rules for entry from Nepal.

]]>Bhutan sent these doses after it completely vaccinated its citizens. The surplus of vaccines that Bhutan received from the other countries was sent to Nepal.
The vaccine transfer abides by the three-party agreement between AstraZeneca, Nepal, and Bhutan, and wherein anyone would divert their excess vaccine supply to the one in need.
The old-age people of Nepal received the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine in March. With Bhutan’s package, the people will receive the second vaccine dose.
Also, Japan is dispatching 1.6 million vials of the same vaccine to Nepal via the COVAX facility. The Japanese package will arrive in Nepal on Saturday.
The help from Bhutan and Japan is a welcome gesture as many Nepalis are awaiting their booster shot for the past few months. The government of Nepal purchased 2 million AstraZeneca doses from India.
However, only a million were delivered as India banned vaccine exports as the subcontinent was overwhelmed by the second wave. The inability to procure the booster shots for the partially vaccinated drew the ire of the many Nepalis back then.

]]>A regular flight ferrying the single-shot vaccines vials from Johnson and Johnson landed in the Tribhuvan International Airport today morning.
American Ambassador to Nepal Randy Berry officially handed over the vaccines to Nepali Health Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha during a program at the TIA. The vaccine consignment has been moved to a Teku-based vaccine storage facility managed by the Department of Health Services.
“Today, we’re giving Nepal enough #JNJ COVID19 vaccines via #COVAX to fully vaccinate 1.5 million people. I’m proud that the US is the largest single-country donor of #COVID19 assistance to Nepal. This gift, on behalf of the American people, has the singular goal of saving lives,” tweeted Ambassador Berry.
Likewise, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said, “There are no strings attached to our vaccines that we’re providing. We’re providing them around the world to save lives and to be a contributor to the global effort to fight the pandemic.”
According to the US Embassy in Nepal, as the vaccine is a single-shot type, 1.5 million Nepalis can be fully vaccinated with received vaccines doses.
“This is one crucial step toward ending the pandemic, recuperating economic losses, and resuming the in-person social connections we all crave,” said the US Embassy.
As per the preliminary news, people in the age group 50-55 will be inoculated. However, the Nepali Government is yet to decide the same.

]]>The post Nepal Introduces Digital Visa System, Replacing 45Y Old Manual Visa Regime! appeared first on Nepali Sansar.
]]>Deputy PM Bishnu Prasad Paudel launched the new visa system under which visas are generated digitally leveraging data from the integrated information system of the Department of Immigration (DoI).
Moreover, the system itself produces visa numbers, and three visas can be accommodated on a single page of a passport.
“The digital visa system would make Nepali visas more credible and help ensure national security,” said Puadel.
According to DoI, the digital visa comes with state-of-art features, including hologram, watermarks and QR code. Scanning of QR code reveals the details of the visa enabling authorities which helps in determining the authenticity of the visa. As the digital systems generate visas, any scope for tempering is ciphered.
“With the new system, the security and management of visas are expected to be strengthened,” said DoI Information Officer Jhanka Nath Dhakal.
“Currently, we issue visas by writing manually on a printed copy of visa sticker, and such visa is pasted on the passport of foreigners. Under the new system, nothing should be done manually to issue the visa,” he added.
Dhakal also anticipated that the new system would pave the way for e-visas in the future.
On the same day, the Immigration Department issued over 150 digital visas to foreigners. Tenzing Norbu Lama of Portugal is the first to receive such a visa.
However, the Department started the digital system only at its headquarters in Kalikasthan. It aims to expand the service to Tribhuvan International Airport and all other offices within the first four months of the upcoming FY 2021-22.
