Nepali swimmer Alex Shah has opened a new chapter in the Nepali swimming arena by creating a new national record in 100 meters freestyle (male) at Olympics 2020, taking place in Tokyo.
Alex beat his record by covering a 100-meter distance in 53.41 seconds on Tuesday at the Olympics. In his previous record, he swam the same distance in 55.38 seconds.
Alex displayed his mettle in hit 1. A total of nine hits were scheduled on Tuesday. In the semi-final, about 16 swimmers will battle it out.
However, despite his brilliant performance, Alex was outgunned by the other swimmers of the other hit rounds. Due to this aspect, Alex’s chances of heading to the semi-final are now moot.
