Three Nepalis and a French national have been admitted to the Teku Hospital under the suspicion of coronavirus infection on March 4, 2020. Three Nepalis have recently returned to the country from South Korea, UAE and Qatar.
The throat swab samples of all the 4 coronavirus suspected people have been collected and sent to the National Public Health Laboratory for coronavirus test. The coronavirus test reports of all the four will come on March 5, 2020.
On the back of growing fear of COVID-19, the number of visitors to the hotels across the nation has reduced drastically. According to the President of the Regional Hotel Association Sauraha, Deepak Bhattarai, the current hotel bookings in Sauraha, Chitwan is only 20% against 90% around this period last year.
As there are no visitors, the hotels in Sauraha have started sending their employees on leave. Around half of the hotels have already sent 50% of their staff on leave.

With the growing coronavirus cases across the world, the Nepali Government has started taking the necessary steps to tackle the virus.
Meanwhile, the tourism Minister Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai has ordered the concerned authorities to form an ‘Action Team’ at the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).
The ‘Action Team’ has to compile a report on the impact of coronavirus on the Nepali tourism industry and should find out the measures to be taken to minimize the impact.
So far, coronavirus has spread across more than 190 countries across the world killing 24,100 people and infecting 538,240 people (as on 27 March 2020).
China, the epicenter of coronavirus outbreak, has reported 3,292 coronavirus death cases and 81,340 infection cases.
Around 20,808 people have died in various countries outside China, the vast majority in Italy, Spain, United States, Germany and Iran.
