The Nepali Government has started implementing drastic policies in a bid to stop the spread of coronavirus to the nation, after the WHO said that Nepal is at high risk of the new virus.
Even though there have been no coronavirus cases so far, Nepal lacks the minimum healthcare facilities and procedures to combat the coronavirus infection if it enters the nation.
So, the Supreme Court (SC) issued an interim order to the Nepali government to take necessary steps to restrict the entry of coronavirus to the country.
Likewise, the SC has ordered the government to suspend flights to and from coronavirus-hit countries including China, South Korea, Japan, Iran and Italy.
The Nepali Government has requested educational institutes to not organize annual celebrations, gatherings, sports events and parents meet, among others.
It advised the school management to complete the annual examinations for all the classes except 10th Grade by March 18, 2020. The board examination for Grade 10 has already been scheduled from March 19, 2020.
Moreover, the government has suspended issuing labor permit of foreign employment and cancelled issuing No Objection Letter (NOC) to the students going for abroad studies.
Coronavirus has spread to more than 70 countries outside China including Italy, Iran, the U.S., the U.K., France, Spain and India, among others.
So far, China, the epicenter of coronavirus outbreak, reported 2,943 death cases and 80,174 infection cases.
Whereas, the countries outside China reported 152 death cases and 10,372 infection cases.
