Miss Universe 2018 Saga All Across, Nepal High on Hope!

With the completion of the Miss World 2018 competition, now the world audience shifted their focus to the ultimate beauty contest of all, the Miss Universe 2018, scheduled to be held in Bangkok.

Ahead of the 67^th Miss Universe beauty pageant grand finale on December 17, 2018, the Miss Universe 2018 National Costume Contest was held at Nongnooch International Convention and Exhibition Center in Pattaya, Chonburi province of Thailand on
December 10, 2018.

Prime Minister of Thailand Prayut Chan-o-cha welcomed the Miss Universe organizers and contestants to the country on December 10, 2018 and offered them a tour of Government House.

The Miss Universe delegation included Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart and Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Gen Prayut said the beauty contest was beyond physical appearance, reflecting the inner beauty of the contestants. In this regard, he urged the Miss Universe Thailand 2018 Sophida Kanchanarin to be a good host for the upcoming grand finale event.

Miss Singapore’s Trump-Kim Summit, Thailand’s Chang the Icon of Siam and Vietnam’s Ham Sandwich Basket themes stood as the highlights of the show!

“The toughest part was bringing out the message tastefully through design. I had to consider the political sensitivities and what it all meant to Singapore and to the world community… without (creating) any misinterpretation. And as the summit was about making peace, it was only natural to go with the World Peace theme,” says Miss Universe Singapore 2018 Zahra Khanum, a 24-yr-old sociology student from the National University of Singapore.

The National Costume Contest has set a stage for the Miss Universe 2018 battle ground, as all the beauty queens of all the participating nations have already arrived in Thailand for the grand finale.

The 2018 edition of Miss Universe competition makes Thailand its third-time host in its journey and popular TV host Steve Harvey is hosting this international beauty contest.

Nepal, as a land of beauties known for their charming skin tone, is hoping high on Miss Universe 2018 and is moving on with the confidence it gained by standing Top-12 at the Miss World 2018.
