Nepal’s Tamel village has started a hiking program in view of the Visit Nepal 2020 on August 04, 2019. The hiking campaign initiated to promote tourism at Tamel kicked off with the slogan Youth Campaign for Temal Development.
“The hiking campaign has been initiated to onboard youths in tourism development of Temal region”, said Nabina Lama, a member of the federal parliament.
The hiking trip started from Temal rural municipality-7 Chapakhori and culminated in Tongsam Kunda. The event spanned four hours during which hikers covered four panoramic hilltops. 40 youth participated in the first-of-its-kind event. Tourism entrepreneur Karna Lama and Henjen Dorje Foundation Chair Leela Bahadur Lama briefed told the participants about the local monasteries and potential tourist destinations.
“Foreigners will also be encouraged to come and joy hiking in the area. This is the only beginning and it is targeted to the Visit-Nepal 2020. Local youths will host the events frequently,” said Lama.
The program was created as part of the pre-event preparations for Visit Nepal Year 2020.
