Kathmandu Valley Welcomes Electric Buses

Ola Kathmandu Valley! Make way for Electric buses.

Nepal Private Sector company Sundar Yatayat Pvt. Ltd. commenced the operation of electric buses in Kathmandu Valley from September 08, 2019.

Nepal Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwar Pokharel inaugurated the electric transport service at Bhrikutimandap at 12 PM.

 

The automobile dealer is planning to add five buses for carrying passengers to and from the Ring Road.

The battery-operated bus has a seating capacity of 40 people and can be fully charged within 40 minutes. The firm has set up a battery charging station at Sinamangal’s Bhatkopul.

The electric vehicles will promote a clean environment and reduce air pollution, besides being an effective means of transport.

The Nepal Government has forwarded a policy to extend the bus services in all major cities of the Nepal’s seven state.
