Nepal and UAE are back at the ICC Academy in Dubai, shortly after their ODI series ended on January 28, 2019!
Nepal won the toss and decided to let the opponents set a target for the chase. UAE set a target of 154 runs against Nepal in the first match of the three-match Twenty-20 series.
However, Nepal failed to beat the target by 21 runs, losing their first match of the Twenty20 series.
Sandeep Jora, Sompal Kami, and Paras Khadka were instrumental in taking Nepal’s score beyond a century with contributions of 53, 27 and 25 respectively.
Let’s hope that Nepal is able to make up for their loss in the next two matches and secure another victory against host-country UAE.
Despite Nepal’s sad defeat at UAE, Nepal’s Sundeep Jora’s made a remarkable contribution to the challenging game at ICC Academy Dubai. After Rohit Kumar Paudel, Jora became the ‘youngest man to score a fifty in T20 Internationals’ with a score of 53 runs off a 46-ball delivery at just 17 years, 103 days!
With this record, Nepal joins Paudel and Khadka for their remarkable performances and titles in the 2019 international cricket. This year has proved to begin with a remarkable start for Nepal Cricket!
