Liverpool Nepali Society Collects GBP 19,000 for Children with Cancer

UK-based Liverpool Nepali Society has raised funds worth GBP 19,000 for the betterment of children with cancer at Kanti Children’s Hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal.

The total amount of £19,000 is collected from various sources, including:

  • GBP 8,000 – From promotional events organized by the society in Liverpool in November 2019
  • GBP 3,000 – Donated by Mayor of Liverpool
  • GBP 8,000 – Promised by the British Government

The society had donated the amount to ‘So The Child May Live’, a charity that works in collaboration with ‘Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Charity’, to improve the life of children with cancer at Kanti Children’s Hospital.

 

Earlier, as a part of their fundraising program, the members of Liverpool Nepali Society has visited Liverpool Mayor Office in the third week of January 2020.

The members include:

  • Deuman Ijam – Chairperson
  • Naresh Bista – Vice-chairperson
  • Shivaraj Pant – Secretary
  • Hariram Aryal – Treasurer
  • Dr Shambhu Acharya – Advisor
  • Bhakta Gurung – Advisors

Meanwhile, the ‘So The Child May Live‘ organization is looking forward to pay a visit to Nepal later this month, i.e., January 2020, to collaborate with ‘World Child Cancer’, another esteemed charity.

Likewise, on the back of the campaign ‘Close the Cancer Gap’, the children with cancer in all seven provinces of Nepal are provided with the necessary support.
