With great enthusiasm for creating a new milestone in Nepali tourism sector, the Visit Nepal 2020 campaign is ongoing with the initiation of welcoming 2 million tourists during 2020.
In this light, Deepesh Man Shakya, President of Nepal Ireland Society said, “Nepal Ireland society along with other different organizations in Ireland have been promoting Nepal to attract more tourists to Nepal. We have organized various talk programs and will organize more in the future. Last time we organized a talk program with Irish Mountaineers to climb Mount Everest.”
He also added that Nepal is not only a destination for climbers or trekkers but a destination for everybody.
Irish Speaker Sean O’Fearghail TD – Speaker of the Irish Parliament (Ceann Comhairle of Dáil Éireann) had visited Nepal last September at the invitation of Nepalese Parliament.
Describing Nepal as a beautiful country with phenomenal food and welcoming people, the Speaker said, “I would just like to avail the opportunity to say it to Irish people who are fortunate enough to be able to plan a foreign holiday during 2020 to look at Nepal as a possible destination. I guarantee it if you make the trip you won’t be disappointed.”
Maureen O’Sullivan TD (Member of Irish Parliament, Convener of Ireland-Nepal Parliamentary Friendship Group) also extended her support to the ‘Visit Nepal 2020’ campaign stating, “It’s very different, and people are amazingly friendly, there is stunning amazing architecture and temples in Kathmandu.”
Hope the Visit Nepal 2020 campaign will foster the Nepal-Ireland ties to the next level by way of cooperation in various tourism and other sectors.
