The Province-1 Ministry of Social Development has launched a campaign to completely ban the trade and use of tobacco related products in the state within April 11, 2020.
The Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of the Province 1 has organized a program to launch the campaign on January 28, 2020.
At the program, the Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai has inaugurated the campaign and promoted the slogan “Let’s choose healthy life, not tobacco products”.
The State Government aims to curb tobacco products throughout the state as per the Provisions of Tobacco Products (Control and Regulation) Act-2068 BS.
The trade of tobacco related products has been prohibited within 100 meters around the government offices under the campaign.
Likewise, the ban will be implemented at educational institutions, hospitals and public places in Biratnagar metropolitan city within February 12, 2020.
