PM Oli’s Health Condition Stable, Receiving Further Treatment

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli successfully underwent his second kidney transplantation at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) on MARCH 4, 2020.

According to the Executive Director of the TUTH Dr. Prem Krishna Khadka, the health condition of the Prime Minister Oli and Samikshya Sangraula, the kidney donor, is stable.

The PM’s kidneys have started functioning well after undergoing the second kidney transplantation.

 

According to the doctors, 68-years old PM Oli has been shifted to the ICU at the TUTH and should stay under observation for a week.

Samikshya Sangraula, Oli’s niece, donated one of her kidneys to the Prime Minister and has been shifted to the Post Operation Ward at the TUTH.

The doctors involved in the kidney transplant surgery are—

  • Prem Raj Gyawali – Consultant Urologist and Kidney Transplant Surgeon at TUTH
  • Ananta Kumar – Senior Transplant Surgeon at Apollo Hospital, New Delhi
  • Dr Arun Sayami
  • Dr. Uttam Kumar Sharma
  • Dr. Dibya Singh Shah
  • Mahesh Sigdel
  • Mukunda Kafle
  • Rabin Nepali
  • Anil Shrestha
  • Dr. Subash Acharya.

PM Oli was admitted to the TUTH for his second kidney transplantation on March 2, 2020.

Earlier, PM Oli underwent his first kidney transplantation in India in 2007.
