Nepal Receives 30 Ambulances and 6 Buses as Gifts from India

During the occasion of India’s 71st Republic Day , the Indian Embassy in Nepal has gifted 30 ambulances and 6 buses to various hospitals, organizations and educational institutions of Nepal.

It has also gifted books to 51 libraries and educational institutions spread across Nepal.

The Embassy has celebrated the 71st Republic Day of India by hoisting of the Indian national flag at the Embassy premises in Kathmandu on January 26, 2020.

Charge d’affaires Ajaya Kumar has hoisted the national flag and later read out the message of Indian President Ram Nath Kovind for the occasion.

During the event, Ajaya Kumar has felicitated family members and relatives of deceased soldiers by disbursing their dues worth NPR 5.97 crore and a blanket to each.

Nepal Receives 30 Ambulances from India

They include:

  • a veer nari (widow of army personnel)
  • 8 widows
  • 5 next of kin

Special Attractions of the Event:

  • Patriotic songs by students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Modern Indian School and Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Kathmandu
  • A performance by the Nepal Army Band.

So far, the Indian Government has gifted 782 ambulances and 154 buses to Nepal to fortify its commitment to collaborate with Nepal in its journey toward socio-economic development.
