Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli laid the foundation stone for the Federal Parliament building in the Singha Durbar premises at Putali Bagaincha.

The building will be setup at a cost of NPR 5.30 billion. It will have two main halls for both houses – the Lower House and the Upper House, a parliament secretariat, party offices and parliamentary committees.

The Parliament is currently held at the New Baneshwor-based International Conference Center (ICC) building by paying an annual rent of NPR 150 million.
