NEB Postpones 10th, 12th Board Exams Indefinitely

Owing to the unwanted surge in coronavirus cases, the National Examinations Board (NEB) decided to indefinitely postpone the annual exams pertaining to grades 10th and 12th. This is the second time that Nepal postponed the exams, as it did the same in 2020.

The exams of grades 10th and 12th were supposed to be held later this month and next month. However, after a meeting consisting of the Board officials, the Board Chairman, Chandra Mani Paudel, initiated the decision due to the worsening COVID-19 situation. In the light of this announcement, it is now unclear when these exams would be held next.

However, the Board directed some key members to suggest a method in the next fortnight pertaining to how these exams can be held. Based on their suggestions, the Board will decide how to proceed with this situation.

When Nepal postponed these exams in 2020, the Board directed the schools to assign the grades to the concerned students. However, the students were graded too ‘generously’ due to this approach.
