Nepal’s COVID-19 Death Curve Flattens, Daily Average At 108!

After a sharp rise in coronavirus death cases in mid-May, Nepal is now witnessing a gradual decrease in the death rate. According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), the daily average death toll from COVID-19 in the last seven days stands at 108.

In the last seven days from last Wednesday to Tuesday, as many as 754 people have lost their lives due to coronavirus infection. According to the data from MoHP, 145 have died last Wednesday, 106 on Thursday, 96 on Friday,  116 on Saturday, 109 on Sunday, 114 on Monday, and 68 on Tuesday.

As of today, a total of 7,454 people have succumbed to COVID-19 infection.

 

In the last 24 hours, Nepal has recorded 6,085 new cases, taking the nation’s caseload to 566,587. Meanwhile, 6,898 patients have recovered from the infection, taking the total recovery cases in the country to 454,344.

Currently, there are 104,789 active cases across the nation, among which 97,704 are in home isolation, 7,085 in institutional isolation, 1,491 in ICUs, and 404 on ventilators.

Among all the districts, Kathmandu recorded the highest of 1,080 new cases on Tuesday, followed by Lalitpur with 283 new cases and Bhaktapur with 215 new cases. A total of 16 districts recorded more than 100 infections in the last 24 hours.

According to the MoHP, a total of 20,165 people were tested for COVID-19 on Tuesday.
