Live Update: Nepal Reports 79 New COVID-19 Cases, Tally at 682

So far, Nepal has reported 682 coronavirus infection cases and four death cases. Currently, the active cases stand at 566 with 112 recovery cases.

As of today, the global coronavirus cases climbed to 5,590,358 while the death cases reached 347,907.

At present, around 2,875,877 patients are undergoing treatment while 2,366,574 recovered successfully.

The Nepali Government’s strategies and regulations to prevent coronavirus spread seem to be in vain as the country continues to witness a sharp rise in coronavirus infection cases.

In the last 24 hours, Nepal has recorded 79 new COVID-19 cases, taking the country’s count to 682.

  • 68 cases – May 23
  • 59 cases – May 22
  • 30 cases, 1 death – May 21
  • 25 cases – May 20
  • 27 cases – May 19

With the sudden rise in coronavirus cases, the Narainapur Rural Municipality has become the latest coronavirus hotspot.

One in six coronavirus cases in Nepal is reported from Narainapur. So far, the village reported 114 COVID-19 positive cases, making up 17% of the country’s total cases.

However, a total of 112 patients were discharged after successful recovery so far in Nepal.

Lately, on May 25, around 61 patients returned home after recovery from Narayani Hospital, Birgunj.

Meanwhile, a 70-year-old patient from Kalaiya Sub Metropolitan City-7 became the 4th person in the country to die from COVID-19.

Meanwhile, PM Oli has suggested five health tips for Nepalis to build a ‘Health Nepal‘ during his address to the nation on May 25.

The 5 Health tips include:

  • Have a healthy and balanced diet
  • Do home-based physical exercise for increasing physical and respiratory efficiency
  • Maintain personal hygiene as well as sanitation of the surrounding
  • Take sufficient rest to remain healthy
  • Maintain high morale, as fear, terror, anxiety, and doubt will weaken the fight against diseases
