Coronavirus Nepal News (May 21): COVID-19 Cases Rise to 457, Deaths 3

In the last 24 hours, Nepal has reported 30 new COVID-19 positive cases, taking the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 457.

Meanwhile, a 41-year-old man from Madane of Gulmi district has died from coronavirus infection today, taking the total death tally to three.

The new infection cases include-

 
  • 23 cases – Jhapa District
  • 1 case – Rupandehi District
  • 1 case – Dhankuta
  • 1 case – Dharan Sub Metropolitan City

However, four patients were received and discharged from Teku Hospital, taking the total recoveries to 49 in the country.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the coronavirus has spread to 38 districts among the 77 districts in the country.

The Highly Affected Districts Include-

  • Banke – 99 cases, 1 death
  • Parsa – 91 cases
  • Kapilvastu – 59 cases
  • Udayapur – 33 cases
  • Rupandehi – 28 cases
  • Rautahat – 22 cases
  • Kathmandu – 12 cases

Meanwhile, Sindhupalchok and Gulmi districts reported one coronavirus death cases each.

With the continuous rise in coronavirus cases in the country, the Ministry of Home Affairs has directed the local authorities in Kathmandu Valley to seal off entry points to the capital.

The Nepali government has also deployed security personnel in five major entry points including Naghdhunga, Jagati, Muddkhu, Pharping, and Sankhu.
