Creating a first-of-its-kind platform for Indian and Nepali youth, India is organizing the first edition of International Entrepreneurship Conclave in Nepal, Connect-IN, in Kathmandu on March 24, 2018.
According to the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, this is an ideal platform to connect young entrepreneurs from both the countries, the Indian Embassy said in a statement.
“It will extend the already strong ties between the peoples of both countries into the areas of entrepreneurial business and knowledge partnerships. It would offer opportunity for investors from both countries to invest in promising business ideas at an early stage,” the Indian Embassy said in an official release.
The event is bringing together entrepreneurs and investors from both the countries for knowledge sharing and exchange discussions on innovation ideas and planning business strategies.
While a series of auditions will be held as part of the conclave, the shortlisted entrepreneurs will have a chance to pitch their investment ideas to the investors panel along with their contribution to the strengthening of India-Nepal start-up ecosystems.
“Nepal and India are dominated by youths and entrepreneurial spirit. We hope the interaction between young entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, equity partners and operators of start-up incubators during the conclave will be productive for Nepal’s start-up ecosystem,” says Kapildhwaja Singh, Coordinator of the Connect-IN and also the Second Commerce Secretary at the Embassy of India, Kathmandu.
Various successful businessmen, start-up heroes, investors, ecosystem partners, jury members and CEOs belonging to India and Nepal will take part in this event.
Some of the key dignitaries of the event include Co-Founder of StartUp India and Coworkin Yatin K Thakur, Founder and CEO of OYO Rooms Ritesh Agarwal, Woman Icon Asia Pacific 2017 BERG Singapore and Founder of Startup People Consulting Vandana Sharma, Chairman of Payments Council of India Navin Surya and Senior Vice-President of Tata Capital Private Equity Ashutosh Tyagi, Co-founder and MD of FAB BAG Kaushik Mukherjee and Managing Director of Kolkata Ventures Avelo Roy, among others.
