Owing to the uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic, the US Embassy in Kathmandu couldn’t reveal any exact timeline for resuming Consular Service in Nepal.
The Embassy on its Facebook page said that it is planning to resume operations as soon as possible in par with the international health guidelines and the US Department of State policy.
The US Embassy had earlier suspended all visa services to ensure the safety of the American and Nepali staff and the visa applicants during the pandemic.
The aspiring Nepalis visitors to the US are reeling under anxiety and uncertainty due to the suspension of visa services. They have been eagerly waiting for the resumption of visa processing and the availability of appointments.
“Due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 situation, we, unfortunately, cannot provide an exact timeline for restarting visa services, but we will resume as soon as we can in accordance with international health guidelines and the US Department of State policy,” said US Embassy in its Facebook page.
“The US Embassy in Kathmandu has recently received many questions about the resumption of visa processing and the availability of appointments. We will share any updates as soon as we can. We understand that the suspension of visa services has caused difficulty and anxiety for prospective Nepali visitors to the US, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.”
