So far, Nepal has recorded 5,760 COVID-19 infection cases and 19 death cases. Currently, there are 4,767 active cases and 974 recovery cases.
Meanwhile, the countries around the world are seeing around 100,000 new COVID-19 positive cases daily. The overall number of global coronavirus cases has neared 8 million, while the death toll has surged to over 435,000.
As of today, the global COVID-19 cases stood at 7,990,151, while the fatalities stood at 435,496. Currently, there are 3,446,603 active cases and 4,108,052 recovery cases.
With 2,162,144 cases and 115,853 deaths, the US continues with the world’s highest COVID-19 infections and fatalities. The US is followed by Brazil, Russia, India, and the UK, among others.
In the last 24 hours, Nepal has reported 425 new coronavirus positive cases, taking the total number of cases in the country to 5,760.
A total of 61 patients were discharged on June 14, taking the country’s total recoveries to 974.
Meanwhile, a 36-year-old man from Dhurkot Rural Municipality died from COVID-19 while undergoing treatment on Saturday night, taking Nepal’s death toll to 19.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), Rukum East reported the first coronavirus cases on June 14 and became the 73rd district to report COVID-19 infection.
In the last 24 hours, 133,377 suspects were tested through the PCR method, said MoHP Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam.
So far, the Nepali Government has tested 309,914 swab samples for coronavirus infection, 121,862 samples through the PCR method and 188,052 through the RDT method.
