So far, Nepal has reported 1,811 COVID-19 positive cases and eight death cases. However, 189 patients were discharged from various hospitals after a successful recovery.
As of today, the global coronavirus cases climbed to 6,266,888 while the death cases reached 373,960. At present, around 3,045,390 patients are undergoing treatment while 2,847,528 recovered successfully.
The coronavirus pandemic continues to spread across Nepal, infecting almost 60% of the total cases in the last week alone. The Nepali Government has recorded 964 new coronavirus cases in the 4th week of May, taking the total count to 1,567.

Meanwhile, a two-year-old girl has died from COVID-19 at Bajura District Hospital on May 31, taking the country’s death toll to 8.
With the sudden spike in the coronavirus cases, the Nepali Government has started spending money from the COVID-19 response fund.
On May 31, 2020, the Financial Comptroller General Office has released around NPR 51.77 million to various health facilities and labs across the country, and NPR 13.9 million to the National Health Research Council.

While the coronavirus pandemic continues to devastate the country, the situation of the Nepalis in foreign countries is even worse. According to the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), the coronavirus has infected 14,425 Nepali migrant workers and claimed 121 lives across various countries.
