So far, Nepal has recorded 17,445 coronavirus infection cases and 40 death cases. Currently, there are 6,056 active cases and 11,249 recovery cases.
Globally, the coronavirus pandemic has infected 13,977,535 people and claimed 593,438 lives. Among the active 5,079,769 cases, 5,019,818 patients are in mild condition and 59,951 are in critical condition. However, 8,304,328 patients were recovered successfully.
The US continues to be the worst-hit country with 3,695,581 COVID-19 infection cases and 141,125 deaths. The country reported at least 70,000 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, a record daily rise for the seventh time in the month.
Meanwhile, the coronavirus tally in India zoomed past a 1-million mark on Friday with a record single-day surge of 34,956 cases.
The Nepali Government has reported 101 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total tally to 17,445. Meanwhile, 285 COVID-19 patients were discharged from different hospitals, pushing the number of recovery cases to 11,534.
In a grim milestone, Covid-19 death-toll in the country has advanced to 40.
Lately, a 70-years-old man has died from coronavirus while undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan.
Currently, 22,756 people are in quarantine centers, while 5,871 are undergoing treatment in isolation.
Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd., one of the leading business conglomerates in Nepal, has announced a donation of NPR 10 million for all the seven provinces to combat COVID-19. The company has already handed over the financial assistance to each of the respective Chief Ministers of Province 5, Gandaki and Bagmati provinces.
The contribution to the remaining states will be completed in the next few days, stated the company.
