The coronavirus pandemic continues to wreak havoc across the world, infecting millions of people and claiming thousands of lives regularly.
As of today, the global coronavirus infections have reached 41,167,386, while the death cases stood at 1,131,289. Currently, there are 9,335,778 active cases and 31,831,608 recovery cases. Among the active cases, 9,262,000 are in mild condition and 73,800 in critical condition.
The US continues to be the worst-hit country, with the highest number of infections and deaths at 8,522,900 and 226,260 respectively. In the last 24 hours, America has reported around 63,000 new infections and 970 deaths. Currently, there are 2,749,500 active cases and 5,547,250 recovery cases.
Meanwhile, India, the second worst-hit country, reported 55,000 new infections and 714 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the nation’s caseload to 7,669,203 and death tally to 116,060.
Brazil is in third place with 5,274,817 COVID-19 infections and 154,888 death cases.
Likewise, Nepal has reported 5,743 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the nation’s caseload to 144,872. Kathmandu Valley alone has reported 3,107 new cases on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, 2,996 patients have recovered from the infection on Wednesday, taking the total recovery cases to 99,605. Nepal’s recovery rate stands at 68.7%.
There are currently 44,476 active cases in the country, with 14,676 in institutional isolation, 29,800 in-home isolation, and 4,035 in quarantine centers.
Unfortunately, 26 patients have lost their lives on Wednesday, taking the death toll to 791.
