The second phase of local level elections will be held in Nepal on June 28. Therefore, to avoid any kind of unexpected activities, the checkpoints along the Nepal-India border in Ilam districts would be closed for 48 hours.
Also, the security chiefs of districts bordering India had a meeting with their Indian counterparts to inform their security concerns about the local level elections. The meeting decided to intensify security along the border in places including Pashupatinagar, Chhabbise, Manebhanjyang, Tumling, and Sandakpur in the district.
According to the District Security Committee coordinator, a security strategy has been created to hold the elections in a fair and peaceful environment.
