The Nepal Academy of Music and Drama honoured five Hetauda-based artists for their hardworking and exceptional contributions to the field of Nepali folk music. The artists were honoured at the Dance and Music festival that was recently held in Hetauda.

Vice-chancellor of the Academy and musician Sambhujit Baskota and culture expert Tulsi Thapa jointly bestowed the awards to Bhola Joshi, Sushila Manandhar, Krishna Gopal Singh, Pramendra Maharjan, and Sambhu Prasad Baskota at the festival.

The festival was concluded by exhibiting various cultural dance and music performances from different communities around Hetauda.

The programme co-ordinator of the festival said that they want to promote their language, culture, and traditions, music and dance, and to preserve them. He further said that honouring the artists who have contributed to the cultural heritages is one of the ways to encourage aspiring artists.
