Sudurpaschim Prioritizes Cottage, Agriculture Industry in 2020/21 Budget

The Sudurpaschim Government has prioritized cottage and agricultural industries in its budget for the next FY 2020/21 (2077/78).

The government aims at promoting micro-enterprises, cottage industries, agricultural products, and herbs in the coming fiscal.

The Sudurpaschim Government has allocated a budget of NPR 33.38 billion for FY 2020/21. Of the total budget, NPR 14.18 billion has been earmarked for recurrent expenditure and NPR 16.75 billion for infrastructure development.

 

As the state is rich in medicinal herbs and aromatic plants, the provincial government has allocated funds for the plantation of 1.86 million saplings of fruits, herbs and other agricultural inputs.

Moreover, the government has initiated the program titled ‘One Local Unit, One Agriculture Product’ to promote agro enterprises.

Sudurpaschim Province

Sudurpaschim Major Budget Allocations Include:

  • NPR 120 million – Installation of a herbs processing plant
  • NPR 50 million – ‘One Local unit, One Industrial Village’ program
  • NPR 32 million – Set up two new industries in each constituency
  • NPR 91.5 million – Relief for coronavirus-hit micro-enterprises and cottage industry
  • NPR 16 million – Youth Entrepreneurship Program
