Nepal Economic Census 2018 Report 2-2 Released!

The Nepali Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) has published the National Economic Census 2018 report 2-2 by annual sales, profit and loss of entities with the number of persons engaged.

It has also published a report on the gross annual sales, gross profit and loss of entities with the number of persons engaged.

As per the report, there are 900,924 entities in Nepal with 3,115,112 persons engaged.

The gross annual sales are at NPR 2,916 thousand in total while the gross annual profit and loss is at 853 thousand.

Annual sales per entity by the size of persons engaged

• 500 to 999 persons engaged – NPR 2,629 million per entity
• 1000 and above persons engaged – NPR 2,019 million per entity
• 1 person engaged – NPR 441 thousand per entity

Gross annual profit and loss per entity by the size of persons engaged

• 500 to 999 persons engaged – NPR 531 million per entity
• 1 person engaged – NPR 162 thousand per entity

Annual sales per person engaged by the size of persons engaged in each entity

• 500 to 999 persons engaged – NPR 3,974 thousand per person
• 100 to 499 persons engaged – NPR 2,281 thousand per person
• 2 persons engaged – NPR 389 thousand per person

Gross annual profit and loss per person engaged by the size of persons engaged in each entity

• 500 to 999 persons engaged – NPR 802 thousand
• 2 persons engaged – NPR 134 thousand

As per the report, it was found that the large number of persons engaged in entities has resulted in high gross annual sales and profits compared to the small number of persons engaged in entities.

The CBS has conducted the National Economic Census 2018 with the technical support from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) with reference date as April 14, 2018.
