]]>The post Nepal Grade 12 Examinations Likely To Be Scheduled Before Dashain! appeared first on Nepali Sansar.
]]>However, the exams will be held only after COVID-19 vaccination arrangements are made for class 12 students.
The NEB said that they are ready to conduct the examination before Dashain if the Covid-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) allows it.
The Board also confirmed that 15 days prior notification will be issued for the students after receiving approval from the CCMC.
Last week, the Parliament’s Education and Health Committee has recommended the NEB to conduct the Grade 12 exams promptly, for the repeated postponements would negatively impact the students.
Education Ministry Secretary Ram Prasad Thapaliya blamed the CCMC for postponing the Grade 12 Exams at the last moment.
“All students in the Kathmandu Valley sitting for the tests were vaccinated against COVID-19.”
“Both the Board and the Ministry are in favor of holding the tests,” he added.
The NEB recently postponed the class 12 examinations, which were scheduled to start from Shrawan 31, upon recommendation from the CCMC.
As the exam has already been postponed twice, the NEB stated that it is working on a schedule to ensure that the examination does not have to be rescheduled again.

]]>However, PM Oli’s festival wishes courted controversy on social media for using the old political map of Nepal in the greeting message.
The PM was criticized and trolled on social media for not using the revised political map of Nepal that included three disputed areas, Lipulekh, Kalapani, and Limpiyadhura.
In response to the massive criticism, the Nepali Government clarified that the map used in PM Oli’s Dashain greetings was distorted because of technical reasons and added that the administration is seriously looking into the matter.
— K P Sharma Oli (@kpsharmaoli) October 23, 2020
According to the PM’s Press Advisor Surya Thapa, the map used in the PM’s greeting message was a revised one but was not visible due to its small size.
“For the sake of design, the map that was used has been subjected to rumors and comments that are unnecessary. It is natural that we would be using the map which is nationally acceptable,” said. Thapa
“We are very concerned about the misinterpretation of the map that was used in Prime Minster Oli’s Dashain greetings. This is something that we are seriously looking into, he added.
Earlier in June, the Nepali Parliament approved the new political map featuring three disputed areas Kalapani, Lipulekh, and Limpiyadhura.

]]>This is the longest Hindu festival in Nepal, traditionally celebrated for 15 days from the Shukla paksha (bright lunar fortnight) of the month and ending on Purnima (full moon).
The festival marks the victory of the Goddess Durga over the Demon Mahisasur. As part of celebrations, devotees visit various temples of Goddess Durga, Mahalaxmi, Mahakali, and Mahasaraswati and other deities reminiscent of power, knowledge, and wealth.
Ghatasthapana (day 1), Fulpati (day 7), Maha Asthami (day 8), Maha Navami (day 9), Vijaya Dashami (day 10), and Kojagrata Purnima (day 15) are the most important events under Dashain each marked with a different set of rituals.
According to the Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Samiti (Calendar Determination Committee), the most auspicious time for receiving and offering Baba Dashain tika today is 10:19 AM (NPT).
However, as Bijaya Dashami is the most auspicious day of the 15-day long Bada Dashain festival, the Committee said that tika could be received and offered at any time today.
Likewise, the best time for Devi Bisarjan is 10:11 AM (NPT).
Tika is a mixture of rice grains, red vermilion powder, yogurt, and curd and put on the forehead of younger relatives as a blessing of the goddess Durga on this auspicious day. Moreover, jamara, newly-germinated barley or maize shoots, are worn behind the ears during Dashain.
However, the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has advised people to follow health protocols owing to the risk of COVID-19 infection.
On the occasion of the Bada Dashain festival, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended warm wishes to all the Nepali citizens at home and abroad.
He requested all Nepalis to celebrate the festival cost-effectively and hygienically and refrain from doing any malicious activities in the name of the festival.
“This Dashain, let’s celebrate it from the location where we are at the moment, considering the high risk of COVID-19 infection on senior citizens, children, and people with underlying health conditions,” said PM Oli.
He also informed that the ‘traditional public tika program’ at the Prime Minister’s Residence would not be held this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
NepaliSansar wishes all the Nepalis at home and abroad a very Happy and Prosperous Dashain 2077!
May Goddess Durga bless your homes and families with prosperity, wealth, and Health. May this festival be a time of renewed joy, happiness, peace, hope, and strengthen the bond among family and friends.
