Nepal made its mark in the South Asia Travel Awards (SATA) with its hotels and airlines being in the list of nominees for the upcoming award ceremony.
Around 20 Nepali hotels, big and small ones, have been nominated for SATA for their contribution to the country’s tourism sector.
Whereas, Himalayan Airlines has nominated in the civil aviation category for its efficient services and prospects.
Speaking on this, Rajat Sarayogi, SATA coordinator for Nepal said, “It is good news to have 20 hotels from Nepal in the competition. The award ceremony is being organized for the second time in South Asia. Around 500 hotels from Sri Lanka, Maldives, India, Nepal and Bhutan are participating in this ceremony.”
Sarayogi informed that the nominated hotels were selected based on the multi-layered process and the final award will be provided on the basis of property, occupancy and the available facilities.
The award ceremony, to be attended by the Nepal Tourism Board along with trekking guides and tour operators as the representatives of Nepali mountaineers, is slated to be held from October 27-29, 2017 in a village resort in Addu City, the Maldives.
