Only the first two matches of the tournament were played so far. The third match of the EPL 2021 between Pokhara Rhinos and Bhairahawa Gladiators was interrupted by rain after playing 10.1 overs.
Likewise, the fourth, fifth, and sixth matches were abandoned without a ball bowled due to incessant rainfall.
Even the seventh match between Patriots and Rhinos in the morning today is delayed due to wet outfield.
So, the second match of today between Gladiators and Biratnagar is hanging on a tightrope.
If yet all the match goes as scheduled, both the teams are looking to bag a win, as both haven’t tasted victory so far in the tournament.
However, Gladiators had secured a point, as its first match against Rhinos was concluded as a draw.
On the other hand, Warriors had lost their first match against Tigers.

Chitwan Tigers team, which own their first match against Biratnagar Warriors, is looking strong to continue the winning streak. Chasing the 151-run target set by Biratnagar warriors, Chitwan Tigers won the match by 2 wickets.
On the other hand, Bhairahawa Gladiators shared points with Pokhara Rhinos in their first match yesterday, as rain played the spoilsport.
With no win so far, Gladiators is looking forward to bag their first win in today’s match.
Meanwhile, the fourth match of the EPL 2021 between Biratnagar Warriors and Kathmandu Kings XI is delayed due to rain.
Let’s see whether the climate conditions will favor the afternoon match.

]]>Over 1,600 universities across 99 countries and territories have been ranked based on their performance across four areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
Nepal’s top Tribhuvan University (TU) has stood at 801-1000 position. Though TU’s overall rank is same to that of the last year, the university has improved to 486 in the citation ranking.

In the year 2019, the TU earned the ranking at 801-1000 position. The next year, the ranking fell to 1000+. Thankfully, the University again made it to 801-1000 position in the year 2021.
The TU has been in the University Rankings for four consecutive years. It is the only university in Nepal to make it to the rankings.
Though Kathmandu University has submitted for the ranking this year, the institute has failed to meet the eligibility criteria to receive a rank.
The University of Oxford in the UK has topped the rankings for the sixth consecutive year. It is followed by California Institute of Technology, Harvard University, and Stanford University in the next places.
The Indian University of Science (IISc), Bengaluru stood top among the South Asian universities by security a spot in 301-350 range. It is followed by Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar in the 350-400 range.
The United States is the most-represented country overall with 183 institutions. The country bagged 57 spots in top 200.

The Indian embassy in Kathmandu, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration and Triyuga Municipality, Udaypur signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of new building for Balmandir Secondary School at Triyuga Municipality of Udaypur district, the embassy said in a statement.
India is also reconstructing 71 educational institutions damaged during 2015 earthquake in eight districts of Nepal under reconstruction grant of Nepali Rupees 5800 million.
Eight schools have already been completed, work on 62 schools is underway and the Tribhuvan University Central Library project is under tender process, it said.

“The website would offer detailed information on Nepal’s all universities and 600 subjects being taught there,” said Founder of the portal TN Aryal.
Likewise, Vice-Chancellor of Pokhara University Prof. Dr. Prem Narayan Aryal said that the website would act as a bridge for cooperation and information exchange among the global universities.

]]>According to Controller of Examinations, Pushparaj Joshi, the university has completed all the preparations to conduct the postponed examinations after Dashain.
Though the university had earlier prepared to conduct the exams before the Dashain festival, the growing threat of the coronavirus pandemic in the country has persuaded the authorities to withdraw their decision.
According to Joshi, the Examination Controller’s Office will conduct annual exams while concerned faculties will conduct semester-based exams.
The TU is striving to complete the annual examinations before mid-April next year to be within the threshold period of 48 months to complete a four-year degree program.
If the exams were completed by the upcoming April, it would be within 45 months, and so no academic sessions would be affected.
The annual examinations will likely begin by the end of November 2020.
However, the decision on semester-based exams would be taken based on the number of students and reports of the respective dean office.

]]>With this, all the affiliated campuses of TU are set to resume administrative services and examination activities. All the teaching and non-teaching staff, who were on a public holiday in view of the pandemic, are supposed to return to their jobs.
However, regular classes and library services will not resume until further notice, as decided by the Nepali Government.
Tribhuvan University is preparing to conduct all the postponed examinations beginning from the third week of August following proper security measures.
Earlier on March 23, the TU had postponed all the classes and scheduled examinations and granted leave for the staff.
Similarly, schools are also allowed to take admissions and conduct examinations from August 17!

]]>There is a sharp rise in e-learning, whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on digital platforms.
Tribhuvan University (TU), the renowned university in Nepal, is working proactively to start online teaching and learning amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
The TU has successfully completed a deal with Microsoft to develop its own digital domain for almost 500,000 members including over 450,000 students.
The features of the digital domain include-
According to the Executive Director at the Planning Directorate Office, Ridhish Kumar Pokharel, the new system will help in continuing the teaching and learning activities even during the lockdown.
The TU has already completed creating accounts for teachers and students and even provided training to teachers on online teaching. Moreover, it has also initiated the process of procuring high bandwidth servers necessary for the new digital platform.
“We are hoping that the new digital platform will help students communicate with teachers, get research materials and focus on their studies even if the lockdown continues,” expressed Ridhish.
