He also stated that the occasion permeates the view that Nepalis should live with dignity and have freedom from debt and slavery.
Sher wished for peace and prosperity for all Nepalis in this address.

]]>The biggest accident during this period occurred in Mugu on October 12 where 32 people died.
Another 13 were injured in this accident which occurred on a bus which was heading to Mugu district headquarters.
The bus had begun from Nepalgunj and it met the accident in Chhayannath Rara Municipality over the Pinatpane River.
Also, 3 people died and 22 people were injured in nine more accidents in Surkhet, two more individuals have died in Rukum West and Jumla, seven more injured in four accidents in Dailekh and 16 more people sustained injuries in two more accidents in Salyan, stated Inspector Jeevan Lamichhane.
A couple of more accidents occurred in Mugu. An accident each occurred in Jajarkot, Rukum West, Jumla, and Kalikot. Apart from these mortalities, 11 people have committed suicide during this period.

Sher opined that unity and harmony among diversity are the best examples of culture. He felt Jitiya was one of the occasions which brought out unity and peace.
He expressed his faith in the occasion and stated that he expected to further the familial affection between mothers and their kids.
He added that the government of Nepal was committed to protect and promote cultural occasions such as Jitiya.

]]>“Photo Kathmandu creates space for conversations between the city and its public, its past and its aspirations. As a festival it seeks to challenge the limits of ‘artistic intervention’ and create in-depth public engagement on socio-political topics of local relevance,” states an official press release.
The festival will present a wide range of pictures on powerful concepts such as gender inequality, identity, power, patriarchy and sexuality, add organizers.
Photo Kathmandu will witness the participation of more than 60 photographers, art practitioners, curators, editors and writers from over 20 countries.
Moreover, the photography fest will present a platform for 17 artist talks and panel discussions, 14 print exhibitions, eight workshops, four slideshow nights and one mixed-media residency and the South Asia Incubator Program.
The print exhibitions will be divided into phases and will feature the following compelling works in the first phase:
In view of the upcoming fest, a ‘mixed media residency program’ began one month ago bringing together ‘six artists’ from five different countries. These artists are living together in Patan and currently collaborating with curators Veeranganakumari Solanki and Sujan Chirtakar to explore relations between photography and other various art mediums.

]]>As the world started watching, Nepali Hindus of all ages took on to roads to celebrate the annual Jagannath Rath Yatra festival on July 13, 2018.
Globally-renowned Hindu organization International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) organized the chariot procession in Nepal’s capital.
As the 35th series of the festival in Nepal, #JagannathYatra2018 in Nepal saw thousands of devotees participating in celebrations in Kathmandu as part of the chariot procession from Lainchaur area of Kathmandu covering the inner orbit of the capital city.
The country saw devotees of all ages, specially youth, dancing and singing devotional songs with a wide variety of musical instruments in praise of the main deities: Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Goddess Subhadra and Lord Sudarshan.
#JagannathRathYatra originates from Puri, a religious shrine in the Indian State of Madhya Pradesh, where the festival is celebrated on a grand scale amidst thousands of pilgrims from all over the world watching the chariot procession. The custom of #chariotprocession dates back to the pre 11th century.
