In a first-of-its-kind initiative Kathmandu’s Shopping Mecca will play host to a Cultural Street Festival from September 27, 2018.
In view of the 39th World Tourism Day, Nepal Culture, Tourism & Civil Aviation Ministry (MoCTCA) and Thamel Tourism Development Council (TTDC) have decided to jointly conduct the festival in the capital city to promote Nepal Tourism.
Speaking at a press conference in Kathmandu, TTDC President Samir Gurung said that the Thamel Cultural Street Festival is being organized with an aim to promote Thamel and broadly, Nepal Tourism.
The fest at Thamel’s Tridevi Marga includes events such as cultural shows & processions, dance party and food festivals, among others.
The invigorating event will also see the participation of various dignitaries including Culture, Tourism & Civil Aviation Minister Rabindra Adhikari and a few VIPs in the area during the time. Besides participating in the event, they will also circle Thamel on foot.
Thamel has been the center of tourism in Nepal for more than four decades. It has been a hot tourist spot in Kathmandu owing to the presence of bookstores, outdoor, outfitters, banks and many more Nepal cultural article.
