]]>The 10th edition of the Nepal European Union Film Festival (NEUFF) has kick started on a grand scale.
However, this year the film festival will be virtual on the back of pandemic. The festival will be streamed on the virtual streaming platform Festival Scope.
People can watch the festival for free by creating an account on the platform.
Organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Nepal, the 2021 Nepal-EU Film Festival is being conducted from September 17 to 25, 2021.
The festival will premiere five Nepali films, 11 European films, and 23 films based on environmental conservation and climate change.
The Nepali films premiering on the festival are:
Besides the movies, the film festival also features many events and interactive sessions. Renowned film directors and artists from Nepal and Europe will take part in the festival.

]]>The movie unit of ‘Maitighar’, the first Nepali film under a private banner, received a special honor in a recently-held film festival.
The national capital Kathmandu, on Monday, witnessed a film festival titled ‘LG Cine Circle Award-2074’.
Nepal Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun, who graced the event as its chief guest, honored various film technicians with awards in their respective categories.
On account of the Nepali film industry’s 51 years of completion, the event recalled first Nepali film ‘Maitighar’ and presented special honor to the film unit. Film stars CP Mainali and Mala Sinha were also present at the event.
On the occasion, ‘Jatra’ film grabbed awards under the Best Movie of the Year, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Screenplay categories.
The event also honored senior film technicians. The chief guest presented ‘Life Time Achievement Award’, along with Rs 51,000 cash prize, to the legendary Fight Director NB Maharjan.
The event was held at Army Officers Club in Kathmandu.
