]]>Ambassador Richard Morris made this statement in a meeting with the BMC Mayor Bhim Parajuli and Deputy Mayor Indira Karki, recently.
Richard also congratulated BMC on its development projects and plans for future progress.
As part of the discussion, Parajuli appraised the Government of Province 1 of providing better education and health access to the poor sections of the society.
On the occasion, he also expressed his willingness to collaborate with private players towards addressing unemployment concerns and ensure overall development of Biratnagar.
BMC has been riding high on development since the recent past.
Going tech-savvy, BMC department is employing video drones to track the construction and other developmental activities across the city.
According to Parajuli, these technologically-advanced drones are being used to monitor the progress of all the past, present and future public development projects.
Video drones are being used for filming and mapping of the projects’ progress.
This project is being conducted under the Asian Development Bank’s Secondary Towns Integrated Urban Environmental Improvement Project (STIUEIP) in collaboration with a locally-renowned firm.

]]>As per the latest update, Prakash Sardar (21) of Baijnathpur Nahartol, Biratnagar Metropolitan City- 19 has been identified as the country’s shortest person at 31 inches in height and 13 kg in weight.
Prakash’s family made this claim after finding his name in a Google search they were doing for finding out the height of Nepal’s shortest persons, and they surprisingly found Prakash as the shortest compared to others.
Following this, the Mayor of Biratnagar Metropolitan City Bhim Parajuli met Prakash at his house on January 30, 2018 and promised a monthly financial aid of Rs 3,000 to Prakash and to all others of this kind.
Earlier a day, 19-year-old Malati Rishidev (2 feet 8-inch height and 3 kg weight) of Morang District was named as Nepal’s shortest person.
Malati has been trending in social media, say the local reports.
Malati will now get a monthly financial aid of Rs 2,000 and the Nobel Medical College of Biratnagar has come forward to do a one-year study on the reasons that stopped her growth.
Though Prakash grabbed the Nepal’s shortest person title, Malati can now be called as Nepal’s shortest woman.
Now, Nepal has the shortest man and woman!
