Ahead of the midterm polls scheduled for November 06, 2018, the Republican Donald Trump and the Democratic Barack Obama, toured key areas of the country in the final weekend of the campaigning on November 03-04, 2018.

Trump and Obama face-off was at peaks in their campaigning trips to Georgia & Tennessee and Indiana & Illinois.

Trump chose the Georgia & Tennessee ground to woo Republican voter base with his party’s achievements and ignited fears of what the Democratic rule would bring to the country in key aspects like immigration.

Obama, on the other side, approached Indiana & Illinois voters bashing away the Republican party on their moves to repeal the Affordable Care Act’s protections for those with preexisting conditions. 

The Trump-led ruling Republican Government was also criticized on a range of issues involving the US-Mexico border, corruption, among others.

“You saw that barbed wire going up. That barbed wire — yes sir, we have barbed wire going up. Because you know what? We’re not letting these people invade our country,” Trump said in a statement on the issues surrounding the US-Mexico border.

“America is at a crossroads. The character of our country is on the ballot,” read Obama’s statement.

The current and former presidents toured across Florida and Georgia, with Obama in Miami & Atlanta on November 03, 2018 and Trump in Pensacola & Macon on November 03-04, 2018.

The two states have crucial governors competing in the midterm election; African-American Democrats Stacey Abrams and Andrew Gillum in Georgia & Florida contesting against two Trump allies Brian Kemp and Ron DeSantis.

Florida has ruling government contestant Rick Scott challenging Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson.

Trump is reportedly focusing on regions that won him good vote bank in 2016 elections and is staying away from regions that possibly have strong Democratic voter base.

Meanwhile Obama is focusing on minority vote bank, especially the black voters in Gary, Indiana.

“Look, look, look! Caravan, caravan!’ Then they’re giving tax cuts to their billionaire friends. Look, look, look! Whatever is the thing scary. And then they’re sabotaging your health care. You can’t fall for it,” said Obama addressing Gary citizens.

“They promised they were gonna take on corruption in Washington. Instead they’ve racked up enough indictments to field a football team,” added the ex-president.

Meanwhile, Trump was confident in saying, “This election will decide whether we build on this extraordinary prosperity we have created.”

The Internet Corporation of Assigned Names & Numbers (ICANN) is using this downtime to change the ‘cryptographic key ‘that is crucial to safeguard the Domain Name System (DNS), also known as the internet’s address book.

According to the World Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA), this is a crucial step towards creating a secure, stable and resilient DNS.

“To further clarify, some internet users might be affected if their network operators or Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have not prepared for this change. However, this impact can be avoided by enabling the appropriate system security extensions,” CRA adds.

Furthermore, a Mobile Research Group Analyst warned that users may experience disturbances in the next 48 hours. While there will be problems with access to some resources, some users may have to wait on slowly loading pages and some others with outdated internet providers will have trouble accessing the network.

However, when ICCAN carried out preliminary tests, it was found that the change would create hardly any issues.

The decision to change cryptographic keys comes as result of growing number of internet infrastructure threats.

While this may thwart business operation temporarily, this step will prove helpful in the long run.

Adding to the automobile innovation, the popular engine maker is planning to introduce #flyingtaxis, which it technically calls as the ‘Electric Vertical Take Off and Landing (EVTOL)’ vehicle by early next decade.

As part of this initiative, the automobile maker has designed a special propulsion system that allows #EVTOL to move at a speed of 402 km/hr for nearly 500 miles with a seating capacity of four-five passengers.

The firm made its announcement at the #FarnboroughAirshow2018, where it also welcomed partners to assist the project with electrical system related support.

Technical Know-How
The proposed #flyingvehicle was initially conceptualized using the gas turbine technology specially designed to ensure a low-noise profile.

It will have wings that rotate 90 degrees allowing the vehicle easily take-off or land in a vertical direction.

As the reports say, these flying taxis might not mandatorily require special parking places and can instead use existing helipads and airports.

“We believe that given the work we are doing today to develop hybrid electric propulsion capabilities, this model could be available by the early to mid-2020s, provided that a viable commercial model for its introduction can be created,” read an official statement.

Race Has Begun!
With this announcement, Rolls Royce joins the list of other globally-renowned automobile players working around similar plans to launch flying vehicles.

“We are well placed to play a leading role in the emerging world of personal air mobility and will also look to work in collaboration with a range of partners,” Rob Watson, Head of Rolls Royce Electrical Team said in a statement.

Airbus, US-based taxi industry player Uber and some other startups, one of them supported by #Google co-founder #LarryPage, have already announced their plans to launch flying vehicles.

Meanwhile, few such vehicles have already been launched!

A firm funded by Larry Page has launched its electric, self-driven flying air taxi that can travel at a speed of 180 km/h.

#Uber has already announced its plans to open a laboratory in Paris to support its #FlyingTaxiProject.

“With world-class engineers and a leading role in #globalaviation, France is the perfect place to advance our Uber Elevate program and new technology initiatives. We’re excited to partner with Ecole Polytechnique to shape the future of urban mobility, on the ground and in the air,” Uber Chief Executive Dara Khosrowshahi said in a statement in May 2018.

One such vehicle has already been launched in California earlier this week. Called as #BlackFly, the new flying vehicle is almost similar to a Sports Utility (SU) car and doesn’t require a licensed pilot and can fly up to 25 miles at a 62-mph speed.
