The team will head to Sri Lanka on August 24, 2019 for the practice tour, ahead of the Asia Cup campaign on September 05, 2019.

The junior team asked the ACC for upcoming practice tour for a good practice session before it faces Bangladesh, India and Pakistan in the U-19 Asia Cup.

Meanwhile, Nepal is already started its closed camp under the leadership of coach Binod Das at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground after the National Sports Council made the ground conditions ready for matches.

Besides the above three teams, the Asia cup will also witness participation from Afghanistan, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Kuwait.

Nepal U-19 had defeated Hong Kong in the Eastern region championship by six wickets to seal a place in the finals.

On the other hand, India beat Sri Lanka in the final at Bangladesh’s Shere Bangla National Stadium.

Nepal registered a five-wicket victory over Malaysia in the penultimate match of the ICC Asia U-19s World Cup qualifier on Monday and kept alive their hopes of qualifying for next year’s World Cup.

In the match held at the Indian Association Ground in Singapore, Nepal won the toss and invited Malaysia to bat first. The Malaysian team was bundled out for a paltry 89 runs in the 36th over. In reply, Nepal chased down the target easily reaching 92-5 in 22.2 overs.

Skipper Sandeep Lamichhane was the pick of the Nepal bowlers with figures of 7-13 from nine overs. This was his third 5-wicket haul in the tournament. Rohit Paudel was the top scorer for Nepal with 34 runs of 37 deliveries.

Nepal, which is currently placed second in the table with eight points from five games, need to beat Afghanistan by a huge margin in their last match to advance to the 2018 World Cup to be held in New Zealand.
