]]>French serial killer, also known as ‘Bikini Killer’, Charles Sobhraj recently suffered severe chest pain. He was originally scheduled for surgery on Tuesday but it was preponed. Sobhraj underwent an open-heart surgery on Monday in Kathmandu and still need to recuperate consciousness.
The 73-year-old Sobhraj’s condition had become worse after he suffered a severe chest pain on Friday. He was immediately taken to a hospital where valve leakage was noticed inside his heart.
Doctors who treated him said that his tricuspid valve has been mended. An artificial valve has been placed instead of the mitral valve, according to the sources.
For the past 12 years, Sobhraj has been serving a life sentence in Central Jail, Sundhara. He was jailed for the murder of US national Connie Joe Bronzich in 1975.
He has been allegedly involved in the murders of Western tourists in Asia and is believed to have murdered 15-20 people in the seventies.

]]>Charles Sobhraj, who is popularly known as Bikini Killer, serving a life term in Kathmandu jail since his arrest in 2003 will have to undergo an open-heart surgery. A few days ago, the 73-year-old Sobhraj suffered a cardiac condition and collapsed in the jail. He is now scheduled for a surgery at the Gangalal Heart Centre in Kathmandu this coming Saturday. In a telephone call with a leading newspaper,
Sobhraj says the risk factor of an open-heart surgery in Nepal is higher than France. But the cardiologists in Kathmandu have decided that he should undergo surgery as quickly as possible. Therefore, he is not sure if he will survive it. After the surgery, Sobhraj may appeal for an early release to go back to Paris.
