Archil Dzuliashvili who is currently at New Delhi, said that he got a chance to propose several ideas to strengthen Nepal-Georgia bilateral cooperation, during his meeting with Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

Sports & Education to Take Off
Besides trade & tourism developments, the countries has great scope for cooperation in the field of sports, hydropower, IT, agriculture and healthcare, among others.

Additionally, he also spoke about Nepal-Georgia’s educational cooperation. “We have some experience in cooperation in the field of education. I am pleased to note that we have a number of Nepalese students who choose to get their higher education in Georgia and their numbers are steadily increasing every year,” said Dzuliashvili.

Nepal-Georgia International Cooperation
Speaking about cooperation at the international front the Georgian Ambassador says, “We have established very good constructive and cordial cooperation between us and both countries have shown support to each other’s candidatures during the various elections held within international organizations. We are also working on cooperation in the judicial and legislative fields.”

Earlier in May 2018, a VFS Georgia Visa Application Centre was opened in Kathmandu to ease the visa application process for Nepalis planning to go to Georgia.

In the backdrop of a successfully running economy, Georgia now plans to extend and enhance its support and cooperation to its neighbor countries.

“As we enter a new stage of our democratic development, we are eager to enhance our relationship with our friends in the global political arena,” Dzuliashvili said.

Nepal and Georgia share similar geographical terrain. Additionally, Georgia has managed to establish itself as a non-corrupt and transparent country similar to what Nepal is working to become. These similarities have paved the way for enhanced cooperation between the two nations.

Conclusion
This new development adds to the series of Nepal bilateral agreements and talks with countries including Qatar, UAE, India, and Japan.
