]]>Nepal won 57 golds, 42 silvers and 52 bronze medals at the International Open Friendship Taekwondo Championship played at the Covered Hall of Itahari Stadium, Nepal on January 03, 2018.
This tournament, organized with international regulations, has witnessed participants from around 12 countries.
The United States stood in the second position (with four golds, three silvers and a bronze) followed by Bangladesh in the third (with four golds, two silvers, and three bronze medals), among others.
While Indian player Abhishek Yadav was declared the best men’s player of the tournament, Nepal’s Dikshya Thakuri won the best women’s player title, and each of them received a cash prize of Rs 50,000.
From Nepal, Maitri Taekwondo Dojang received 11 golds and bronzes and eight silvers, followed by Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) (10 golds, six silvers and 12 bronzes), Armed Police Force (eight golds, five silvers and three bronzes) and Chunikhel-based team (seven golds, and three silvers and bronzes), among others.
This championship, established in Portland, United States, had its first edition in Kathmandu followed by the second edition in Pokhara and third again in Kathmandu.
