The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed this in a recent update, where it said Nepal will also one of the 21 countries that the trophy will be touching as part of the 2019 tournament.

This is the first such instance in the history of the Cricket World Cup Trophy and for Nepal as well!

The Trophy Tour begins with ICC headquarters in Dubai, followed by Oman, US, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, India, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Kenya, Rwanda, Nigeria, France, Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany, before ending with the finale in England during May 30-July 14, 2019.

“During the nine-month journey, the Trophy Tour will travel not only to countries taking part in the tournament but for the first time ever will go beyond traditional cricket heartlands and connect with fans in a further 11 countries where cricket is growing including Nepal, USA, and Germany,” ICC said on August 25, 2018.

Then, the tour will include 100-day domestic tour across countries that host the tournament.

“During its journey, the ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy will visit iconic and unusual locations, communities, schools, universities and even people’s homes in a bid to connect people globally in what will be the most unique, and accessible Trophy Tour to date,” informed an official release.

Cricket is going to be the second such World Cup Trophy that Nepali citizens will be witnessed after the 2014 Football World Cup Trophy.

While India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are among the Asian nations that are competing in the 10-team 2019 World Cup after getting through the Qualifiers, Nepal managed to finish at the eighth place in the Qualifiers, which brought the country its most-coveted One Day International (ODI) status.
