Nepal Government remains committed to ensure democracy, press freedom and human rights, says Prime Minister KP Sharma.<\/p>\n
Oli made this statement at a recent meeting with the newly-elected working committee of Nepal Media Society held in Kathmandu<\/a>.<\/p>\n Speaking at the meet, Oli lauded media\u2019s role in keeping the government in check and increasing public awareness on social issues and governance.<\/p>\n At the same time, Oli also expressed dissatisfaction at some acts of media pertaining to publishing of information.<\/p>\n \u201cDo you think Maitighar Mandala is a proper place for protest assembly and rally? How can the government be branded as anti-civilian freedom?\u201d he questioned citing one of the recent issues in the country.<\/p>\n \u201cThe things written now should be true and relevant even after 10 years down the line,\u201d he told the press community of Nepal<\/a>.<\/p>\n At an end note, the Prime Minister congratulated the newly-elected committee of the Nepal Media Society.
